Everlasting Love Tattoo

on

I realize that many people don’t like tattoos and that a lot of people would be completely against the idea of two individuals tying themselves together with a tattoo, but my husband and I both want to get another tattoo. For our upcoming anniversary, we have decided to go together and each get a tattoo that embraces and expresses both our individuality and our partnership.

For mine, I am considering either the eyes of wisdom or the everlasting lover’s knot. I desire a tattoo at the base of my spine to reinforce the power of my sexual energy, so that is where I have decided to place mine. These are the two I am considering for my tattoo….thoughts?

“This Celtic symbol of everlasting love is formed from two triskeles. The triskeles, three cornered knots, denote the three aspects of two people, body, mind and spirit. The two triskeles, joined together, show a circle, the everlasting circle of eternity. Thus the figure represents two people, joined in body, mind, and spirit in everlasting love.”

The Buddha Eye (Eyes of Wisdom) symbolizes unity of all the things as well as one way to reach enlightenment—through the Buddha’s teachings. The third eye, symbolizes the all-seeing wisdom of the Buddha.

We both have Celtic backgrounds and we both embrace Buddhism as one aspect of our spirituality….

    Celtic gets my vote.

Yes, that’s the way I am leaning to. Somehow posting forced me to go deeper into my contemplation process. The meaning is deeper and more in line with the purpose. Maybe I need an orgasmic meditation session to come to my final decision:-)

      Thanks again MO, Joy

I will. We are researching places in Seattle to get our tattoos. We plan on photographing the process, if I feel brave, maybe I’ll post a photo or two…
