Kama Sutra Madness

on

I received a notification in my email telling me that my blog stats are through the roof. This little blog, which started as a public diary is now getting over 200 hourly views! I don’t really get it myself. I decided to dig a little to see what it is that is so intriguing…as far as my stats tell me, it seems like a high percentage of my readers are simply seeking more from their sex life.

The number one all time search term that lands people on my blog is “Kama Sutra”…funny thing is, I only ever wrote a couple of blog posts on this topic. I guess once people land here, they get lost in eros and find themselves enjoying reading about my sex life and beyond.

But the nagging question that I simply cannot get off my mind is this…for those who are searching for information about the Kama Sutra, what are they really looking for? Do they desire more from their sex life? A deeper connection with their lover, or themselves? Kinkier sex positions…or are they just trying to catch a peek of a nude couple engaging in sex?

I personally have never found the Kama Sutra all that interesting, but I have decided to explore it on a more intimate level 😉 If you searched for something and magically found yourself transported to the world of Tantrachick, please share what you were looking for.

PS: I have received a plethora of emails with blog post topic suggestions and intimate questions…I am working on responding to each of you.

  1. “what are they really looking for?”… May be it’s just you that gravitates the interest. The woman behind it all.

Crazy stats ! That the notification offered you insight to where you been and where you wish to go with your writing, as well as the interest of your followers.
The woman behind it all is a powerful creative being using her sexuality to inform and engage other discerning people to learn to have open heart and conversations/discussions…
I think Kama Sutra is an exotic, and less threatening way to approach sexuality?

I know! It seems to be a number of new crosslinks driving traffic to this site. The most positive things about the influx of new readers is that it inspired me to force myself to write. I guess I am joining the ranks of the “Reluctant Bloggers”…love your title, Jeff!

Thank you for your sweet comments…yes, I suppose the draw to Kama Sutra is that it feels exotic and less threatening. Good point. Also, the fact that an entire culture accepts nude portraits of sexual acts helps North Americans to feel more comfortable.

Interesting that “Kama Sutra” is the phrase that is drawing people since that is the least discussed topic on your blog from what I have seen. Personally, I was drawn by “Tantra” and your openness about all of the things you have experienced in your life (and continue to) and how you have overcome and healed yourself and others. You are a remarkable person and a special woman. I can honestly say you have helped me change my perspective and being a freshly graduated Marriage and Family Therapist I will be using much of what you have taught me about the healing process in sexual issues to help those of my clients in the future who suffer from much of what you have shared. Blessings to you, Joy. You are a gift and an ever increasing light to me and my wife.
