Global Center for Intercultural Healing

So, as always, I have contemplated life 😉 My children are growing up and life is shifting. I am not an empty nester, but I have a lot more time to myself, which leaves me feeling a little un-engaged. Mountain keeps asking me what it is I want to do with my life and I haven;t been able to come up with an answer. I will always write and my healing arts practice is wonderful, but I feel the need to dig deeper!

Over the past few months, I have been lost in movement (dance, yoga, gentle stretching), meditation, and my writing. I have also been writing a more personal journal about life and tapping into my own intuitive voice. I finally heard a calling. I thought about the things that I am passionate about – healing arts, global issues, and teaching. I kept trying to fit these pieces of the puzzle together.

This week, I found my inspiration. The Global Center for Intercultural Healing! I created a mission statement this evening. It started out wordy and awkward and I am sure there is still some tweaking to be done, but I wanted to share with you and get some feedback. “GCIH promotes culturally diverse healing traditions through experiential research, documentation & workshop offerings.”

I picture travelling to remote locations and working with healers from those communities to learn their healing modality. I imagine dedicating 1-3 months with each healer during the winter months, then returning to the US to share what I have learned. I imagine keeping both written and photographic documentation of the process and I imagine that, each year, I would bring at least one global healer to the center to offer their teachings.

I am in the process of putting together my business plan, exploring the various logistics of this under taking and I am feeling my heart soar! My pulse races and my breath quickens at the thought of manifesting this vivid dream that is unfolding before me. I believe I may have found my true passion. My calling.

I am considering starting with Tao and Tantra teachings in India to deepen my understanding. Possibly training in Thai massage in Thailand and I am also interested in finding traditional energy healers and Shamanic practitioners. I hope you embark on this journey with me, for I will share deeply of myself and the process. With you! From my heart to yours, JoyBuddhaMeditationTree

The only downside to this marvellous plan of yours is that you will be unavailable for long periods while you undertake all this learning!!!
Oh well….at least you will have some wonderful stories to tell.

Yes, that is precisely my plan 😉 I will be documenting the entire process…sort of a photo journalism approach and writing a book about the journey.

I actually offered phone sessions even when I was living off grid in the middle of the Arizona desert! One thing I attempt to do is make myself accessible as much as I can!

      Loving our interactions dear whoaman!

  2. Joy This sounds like a wonderful idea. I support you all the way. Your support for Tantric spiritual and sensual pathways is so needed at this time in the world. Thank you again for your intentional flow. Charlie
