Photo Shoot: Pictures of Joy

So…I had excellent chemistry with the photographer I worked with today. Unfortunately, because it was our first photo shoot, I definitely found it difficult to “drop into myself” and let my guard down. At the same time, I actually don’t hate a few of the photos he took. As for my photographer…somehow I thought he was a retired senior citizen. He turned out to be a tall, British/English?? gentleman in his mid twenties (guessing here).

For some reason that threw me off. Also, my studio is next to a Barber’s Shop and on a main street, so there was noise and commotion. I know now that I prefer a private Photo studio with more space, or outdoors. However, I did break through my photography block. The photo I am going to share is completely untouched…just me.

Thank you for your encouragement and support today! You all totally rock! I am hoping Sam will want to work with me again, as I know for a fact that I will be able to relax more…and yes, Kevin…my hubby loved the photos (he has seen all of them).

From my heart to yours,

ps: I just noticed that, in the mirror on the wall you can see part of the painting I have hanging on my studio wall (I painted it fyi)…

  1. Joy, A lovely photo. You are indeed beautiful. Those eyes! It has been said that they are the window to the soul. You have a beautiful soul! If Sam comes back and you “drop into yourself,” that will be great. If not, you have shared a lot of yourself and I am grateful. Namaste, Dan

Awe, thank you Dan! So sweet! There are more to come…this is just a taste of Joy 😉

I agree with Dan. The eyes make the picture. So the two with your eyes visible are my favorite. The top left one, you seem to have a mischievous smile. I wonder what was in your mind at that moment.

I’m glad hubby enjoyed. He’s our proxy.

Funny thing is, when I was a girl, even through my teens, I always wore my hair long with my bangs over my eyes (I was incredibly shy…like a timid deer). So when I am out of my comfort zone, I like my hair across my right eye Sam kept asking me to move it out of the way so he could capture me eyes 🙂
