Lotus Root Tantra

The past few weeks have been very interesting for me; I have learned a lot about myself and about my practice. Over and over again I hear the question “What do you do?” Almost every single client asks me “But what exactly happens during sessions with you?” This question is much harder to answer than you might think.

My path to becoming who I am today began as a Doula (birthing assistant). I have always had deep compassion for those who are underprivileged and in need. I volunteered with the Rose of Sharon, which is a program for teen moms. I supported young women who were either pregnant and alone, or pregnant and in an abusive relationship.

As I had children of my own and my children grew, I evolved into a home school workshop leader. I focused mainly on my kids, so this evolution made sense. I continued to learn a variety of healing modalities and over time, I started feeling passionate about the healing arts. It was my need for sexual transformation that led me to study Tantra…and a variety of other sexual healing systems.

Over the past few days I’ve taken stock of the various healing arts systems I have learned throughout my life. There are a lot of them. As I learn more, I evolve as a healer. At some point, I coined the word Shaktara, which combines Shakti and Tara (a Buddhist Goddess). I love the word Shaktara, it holds a lot of meaning and importance for me.

However, the other day I had an interesting epiphany. I was eating sushi and there was a lotus root on my plate. I found its shape so intriguing. As I looked at it, I began having one of my visions (I am a writer, so when I am deep in thought, things play out in my mind like I am watching a movie).

I won’t get into the more intricate details, but I will share that I realized that it is time for me to create a solid foundation for the teachings I offer during sessions. I am now in the process of clarifying what it is that I do and what I offer to the people who choose to work with me and learn from my collective professional and personal experiences and education.

I am excited to share the Lotus Root path with you as it unfolds, and begins to take shape. On another note, I recently lost access to both of my emails…so if you have reached out to me in the past few days, I did not receive your email. I will send out an e-newsletter when I regain access to my email. I hope your day is total bliss!

From my heart to yours,
